Patio scope may include grading, base preparation, forms, reinforcement, joints, edging, surface finish, and drainage. This simple rectangular estimator does not infer those requirements, and not every item is included in concrete delivery.
Example patio calculation
For a hypothetical 16 ft × 12 ft patio at 4 in thickness, the area is 192 sq ft and raw volume is about 64 cu ft, or 2.37 cu yd. With an illustrative 10% waste factor, the quantity estimate becomes about 2.61 cu yd before supplier-specific ordering rules.
